The wife of professional wrestling legend Ric Flair has been arrested for domestic violence, TV Guide is reporting, claiming Flair suffered minor injuries at the hands of Jacqueline Bains Beems after the two had "an unfortunate disagreement." While we'd certainly never make light of a domestic violence situation, we will note that Flair's catch phrase was "to be the man, you've got to beat the man." Apparently, it seems Bains Beems took that a bit too literally.

Rihanna issues her first official statement:"She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time." Rihanna celebrated her 21st birthday in private with family. Her father is furious over the photos that were leaked to TMZ. It is reported that TMZ paid a police informant $62,500 for the photo. LAPD has launched an internal investigation. Rihanna has not commented on Chris Brown or the altercation. Chris Brown is still free on $50,000 bail.

A source inside Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles has confirmed exclusively to RadarOnline.com that pop star Rihanna was in fact treated there for injuries…

“It was some time after 12PM PST [Sunday] and I had been waiting in the ER department corridor when Rihanna was brought through the back entrance on a gurney, flanked by two LAPD officers. It was impossible to know it was her at first because when they wheeled her past me, she had the hood on her fuchsia-colored sweatshirt tightly drawn round her face and she was wearing big brown sunglasses. They took her into room 14 which was opposite me. It had a six-foot glass door but the nurses drew a privacy curtain around it.”

However, they didn’t draw the curtain all the time and I was finally able to make out that the woman they had brought in was Rihanna. She was lying in bed. Chris Brown Arrested for felony assulat against Rihanna

Rumor has it that R&B singer Chris Brown has been turned himself in on charges of felony assault against girlfriend Rihanna. The alleged incident reportedly happened around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, when the R&B singer and a woman were in a vehicle in L.A. when they became involved in an argument, according to a police statement. After stopping his car, Brown and the woman got out and the argument escalated. The woman suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker, according to police. The LAPD received a 911 call reporting the disturbance.When officers arrived they found the victim, but Brown had already left the scene, the statement reads.The LAPD is conducting an investigation into the incident. It was originally reported that the pair were in a car accident. Rihanna's publicist even issued a statement that Rihanna was "well" and wanted to thank her fans for their

Persia from VH1's "The White Rapper show" becomes a double victim of Domestic Violence

December 10, 2008---Ulster County, NY. Persia was the biggest sensation on VH1's 2006 reality series, "The White Rapper Show." Her only task was battling for the winner's spot. When she was eliminated leaving behind two contestants, her fan-base declared the reality show over. But in the real world, behind closed doors, the Far Rock, NY native was battling for her life. Entangled in an ongoing domestic dispute with her estranged ex-boyfriend who continuously threatened her life and the life of her family including her mother and six-month old daughter---without the help of law enforcement, Persia protected herself the best way she knew how.

Later that year, Persia (legal name Rachel Murcerino) was pulled over during a routine traffic stop, when officers searched her vehicle and a found a loaded weapon under her front seat. Now facing a three-and-half year prison sentence instead of the six-months promised by her lawyer if she pled guilty, she is asking for her fans' support once again in an attempt to get her sentence reduced.

"I was involved in an abusive relationship which led to him trying to kill me. I felt I had no choice but to protect myself," Persia said. Adding salt to an open wound, her assailant was also a police informant, leaving her feeling hopeless and even more vulnerable to his violent attacks.

According to the American Institute on Domestic Violence, "domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women." Fearing for her safety, she left the abusive relationship only to be stalked by her assailant who continued to threaten her and her family's lives. The torment went so far as to him boyfriend pouring gasoline besides her mother's house as a warning if she did not return to him causing her mother to have a heart attack. He was also reported to have called the VH1 network and threatened to expose the winner of the "The White Rapper show" in order to receive money from them.

"I went into hiding but honestly, who can live like that? Someone I know bought me a gun so that I could get from my front door to my car with[out] being attacked or even killed," Persia stated. According to the American Bar Association, nearly two-thirds of females in the United States were killed with a firearm by their domestic partner or husband in 2002.

Now, after almost two years since her legal encounter, instead of heading to the studio to work on her debut album after inking with a major record label, she is scheduled to appear at the Kingston Court House on December 12, 2008 for sentencing in Ulster County, NY for gun possession.

She is asking her fans and concerned citizens to fax letters or write to the District Attorney's office requesting that her sentence be reduced taking into consideration she is a victim of domestic violence, a single mother of a six-month old daughter with no priors trying to protect herself and her family. The Staten Island Good Neighborhood Association is demanding and calling on New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo for a full investigation of all cable systems through the tri state area after a convicted Staten Island TV operator was transporting TV programs to a Hizballah TV Station that was linked to a terrorist group.

Staten Island Good Neighborhood Association President John “JE” Englebert says “Children can be affected by messages sent through our airwaves. Although we recognize our 1st amendment of free speech we feel this was done illegally through our cable communications system. We feel that our TV systems are not being fully checked and there might be other cable systems affected. We are calling on Attorney General Andrew Cuomo for a full investigation”. Staten Island Good Neighborhood Association Vice President Mark Fiore says "We will be demanding higher penalties for this kind activity".

Javed Iqbal, a/k/a “John Iqbal,” 45, of Staten Island, New York, pleaded guilty Tuesday December 23rd in Manhattan federal court to providing material support to Hizballah, a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization. According to the criminal Complaint, the count (Count Two) of the Superseding Indictment to which Iqbal pleaded guilty, and statements during the guilty plea proceeding before United States District Judge. Hizballah (”Party of God”) is a Lebanon-based organization whose stated mission is the establishment of a fundamentalist Islamic state and the destruction of the State of Israel. Hizballah regards the United States as its enemy in this struggle and has pursued its mission through, among other things, attacks on civilian targets. Hizballah operates a television station in Lebanon known as Al Manar (”the beacon”) to cultivate support, including raising funds and recruiting volunteers for attacks. Hizballah was designated on October 8, 1997, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. On October 31, 2001, Hizballah was further designated a Specially Designated Global Terrorist, and Al Manar itself was so designated on March 23, 2006. Iqbal operated a satellite television service known as HDTV Limited, d/b/a HDTV Corporation that maintained certain of its satellite equipment at Iqbal’s residence on Staten Island. Iqbal admitted that between approximately September 2005 and August 2006 he provided satellite transmission services to Al Manar, in exchange for thousands of dollars in payments from Al Manar. Iqbal pleaded guilty to a charge of providing material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization, which carries a maximum penalty of fifteen years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for March 24, 2009, at 12:45 p.m. before Judge Berman in Manhattan federal court.
