Last Meal for Gourmet Magazine, Chefs to say farewell with a Golden Fork presented to staff of legendary publication


The Fifth Annual “The Great Gathering of Chefs” will bring together almost 200 of some of the world’s most celebrated chefs. Emeril, Daniel, Eric Ripert, Michael Psilakis, John Delucie, Jean-Georges and George Mendes, just to mention a few. The chefs will be honoring the editors,writers and staff of the legendary culinary publication Gourmet Magazine in a special tribute. A golden fork will be presented. The magazine said farewell after over 50 years of being one of the bibles in the food industry.

The organizer of the event renowned photographer Battman, a.k.a. Alan Batt. wanted it to be the last meal for the magazine that touched the lives of so many chefs. He will be launching “Small Things Sweet” & “Small Things Savory”, in which each chef will be featured with there favorite dishes. They will be signing copies of the book. It is one of the largest gathering of chefs in the United States. The event is will take place on October 18th, 3pm at the Mandarin Oriental, New York and is limited to only 400 special guests.

The night will raise money for “Action Against Hunger”, an organization dedicated to helping severely malnourished children in 40 countries around the world.

From 6-8PM there will be a wine pairing by David Bowler Wines & tasting from 20 of New York’s best restaurants. They include: Nobu, Gilt, Sushi Samba, Jean Georges, Blue Smoke, Asiate, Adour Alain Ducasse, Olana, Jean Loius Dumonet, Rouge Tomate, Aureole & Dovetail and others
