HUMAN FAT USED FOR COSMETICS!!!

Peruvian police have captured several members of a remote jungle gang that kills people for their fat, which they purportedly sell on the black market for use in cosmetics. One suspect told police that the killers would cut off their victims' heads and limbs, remove the organs and suspended the torsos from hooks over candles to melt fat from the bodies. Three suspects have confessed to killing five people for their fat, said Col. Jorge Mejia, chief of Peru's anti-kidnapping police. Two suspects who were arrested carrying bottles of liquid fat told police it was worth $60,000 a gallon. Police displayed two bottles of amber-colored fluid seized from the suspects which testing proved to be human fat. Police dubbed the jungle-based gang the "Pishtacos" after a Peruvian myth of Incas who killed to extract human fat, quartering their victims with machetes. The suspects told police the fat was sold to intermediaries in Lima. Mejia said he suspects the fat was sold to cosmetic companies in Europe, but had no proof. One gang member, Elmer Segundo Castillejos, 29, led police to the rotted severed head of one victim in coca-growing valley last month, Mejia said. Six members of the gang have eluded capture, including the leader, Hilario Cudena, 56, who Castillejos said has been killing to extract fat from victims for more than three decades. At least 60 people this year have been reported missing in drug-drenched Huanuco
province, an area controlled by leftist rebels where the gang allegedly operates.

On Nov. 3, police arrested two suspects at a Lima bus station with a quart of human fat in a soda bottle. Their testimony led to the arrest of Castillejos three days later at the same bus station. The three are charged with homicide, criminal conspiracy, illegal firearms possession and drug trafficking, according to a statement from Lima Superior Court. Police said they were searching for the alleged buyer. Mejia said Castillejos claimed his was not the only gang engaged in such killings. Medical experts expressed doubt about an international black market for human fat,but Yale University dermatology professor Dr. Lisa Donofrio told the Associate Press that a small market may exist for "human fat extracts" to keep skin supple. She said such treatments are "pure baloney."

WILL FERRELL NOT SO BANKABLE ANYMORE

Will Ferrell may not be as bankable as he used to be when it comes to making blockbuster movies. This summers movie "Land of the Lost" was deemed one of Hollywood's biggest disasters that eventually left Universal Studio heads Marc Shmuger and David Linde on the unemployment line. The movie cost $100 million to make and only made $43 million. Ferrel has become one of the highest paid actors for playing his trademark role (Man-Child). Ferrell's previous movies Talladega Nights grossed $162 million and Elf made $220 million.

THERE IS A SURGE IF STD CASES IN THE US AND WE ARE NOT JUST TALKING HIV!!!

(Atlanta) Sexually spread diseases continue to rise, with reported chlamydia cases setting yet another record in 2008, government health officials said Monday. This year there were 1.2 million new cases of chlamydia, a sometimes symptomless infection that can lead to infertility in women. It was the most ever reported, up from the old record of 1.1 million cases in 2007.
Better screening is the most likely reason, said Dr. John M. Douglas Jr. of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Syphilis, on the verge of being eliminated in the United States about 10 years ago, also has been increasing lately. About 13,500 cases of the most contagious form of the disease were reported in 2008, up from about 11,500 the year before.
Unlike chlamydia, health officials think syphilis cases actually are increasing. Syphilis rates are up among both gay men and heterosexuals, said Douglas, director of the CDC’s Division of STD Prevention. Syphilis can kill if untreated, but chlamydia is not life-threatening. Neither is gonorrhea, which seams to have plateaued in recent years. Gonorrhea cases dropped to about 337,000 cases in 2008, down from about 356,000 cases. Girls, ages 15 through 19, had the largest reported number of chlamydia and gonorrhea cases, accounting for more than one in four of those cases. But they’re often screened more than other people, since 1993 federal recommendations that emphasize testing for sexually active women age 25 and under.
The government estimates there are roughly 19 million new cases of sexually transmitted disease annually. Experts say the most common is HPV, human papillomavirus, which can cause genital warts, cervical cancer and other cancers. The government doesn’t ask doctors to report every HPV case, but estimates the virus causes 6.2 million new cases each year. That is an old estimate, based on data from 2000, before a vaccine against some types of HPV came on the market in 2006. The CDC estimates there are 1.6 million new cases of genital herpes each year, but that too is an old estimate for a non-reportable disease. The agency also estimates there about 56,000 new cases of HIV each year.

DECAPITATED FOR BEING GAY???

Towleroad reported today that a gay Puerto Rican teen was found brutally murdered on the island. Nineteen-year-old, Jorge Steven Lopez Mercado’s body was found burned, decapitated and dismembered on Nov. 14 in Cayey, a city only a few miles away from his hometown in Caguas. According to an iReport by Christopher Pagan, “He was a very well known person in the gay community of Puerto Rico, and very loved.” Pagan said, “Never in the history of Puerto Rico has a murder been classified as a hate crime. Even though we have to follow federal mandates and laws, many of the laws in which are passed in the USA such as Obama’s new bill, do not always directly get practiced in Puerto Rico.” Pagan also noted the public remarks from a police investigator for the case that ‘people who lead this type of lifestyle need to be aware that this will happen’. Towleroad translated gay activist Pedro Julio Serrano’s response: “It is inconceivable that the investigating officer suggests that the victim deserved his fate, like a woman deserves rape for wearing a short skirt. We demand condemnation of this investigator and demand that Superintendent Figueroa Sancha replace him with someone capable of investigating this case without prejudice.” According to Pagan, the story has only made local headlines and deserves international coverage.

“The first three projects coming out of Dream Big are very realistic reflections of the three stages an artist can find them self in,” explains Sha Money XL. “Established and successful, in-between labels or ready to take your career to the next level.” Dream Big Ventures has been formatted to work with artists regardless of their position within the music industry to encourage and maximize potential. “We are looking to nurture talent that has the passion to ‘dream big’ and let the company take them to where they want to be.”
