Long Island Fans Create National Campaign To Put J.Lo On "American Idol"

LONG ISLAND FANS CREATE NATIONAL CAMPAIGN TO PUT J. LO ON "AMERICAN IDOL"

Long Islanders and dedicated J. Lo fans are creating a national campaign that will petition for the singer to be one of the judges on the upcoming "American Idol" season. With the absence of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi, FOX executives have at least two judges' seats to fill for the hit reality show. Rumors have been circulating lately that J. Lo, previously thought to be in the running, has now been shunned for Mariah Carey or Shania Twain.

Those working on the campaign, led by Long Island native Lloyd Landsman MD, have already created a petition online and expect to accrue hundreds of thousands of signatures. They are planning to send the petition to FOX executives and launch a website detailing the reasons why J. Lo should be one of the "Idol" judges. Also in the works is an advertising campaign with notices put in magazines and music trade publications.

Dr. Landsman is himself a neighbor of J. Lo's - she and husband Marc Anthony own a North Shore estate. He believes she is the best candidate for the job, having already proved her competence when she served as a guest judge on two "American Idol" episodes in 2007. Dr. Landsman also points out that J. Lo would be the first Long Islander to judge "Idol" and would be a wonderful representative of the community. Although the Bronx-born entertainer is more widely known as "Jenny from the Block," she's also "Jenny from Northern Boulevard." Paparazzi photos repeatedly reveal her shopping and dining all over Long Island. Other famous Long Islanders include Billy Joel, Billy Crystal, Lindsay Lohan and LL Cool J.

A global phenomenon who has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, J. Lo dominates the music, film, TV and fashion industries and has parlayed her fame into multiple endorsement deals. Her two-decade-spanning career gives her the experience necessary to mentor young artists on "Idol"; her charisma and on-screen presence make her perfect for the TV gig.

Fw: ASPIRE TO WIN, GOD'S WAY MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH AND TRAE THA TRUTH DELIVER MESSAGE OF HOPE

Houston, TX - Violence and crime is an ever-growing problem amongst our nation's young people and finding ways to reach them where they live an even bigger challenge. Last Friday, the young congregation of Houston's God's Way Missionary Baptist Church hosted an event that was designed to do just that; Hopefest. Pastor Tyrone P. Spriggs invited local organization, Aspire to Win, along with Houston rapper, Trae Tha Truth, to hold a panel for the young people of his church and their families in an attempt to inspire those present to stay in school and away from the pitfalls of peer pressure and the streets.

Founded by Rosey Ruiz MSW, LCDC (above with Pastor Tyrone P. Spriggs and panelists), Aspire to Win is a program for men re-entering society having served 10 or more consecutive years in prison; most for violent crimes. Each of the 4 Aspire to Win clients on Friday's panel had served between 20 and 33 consecutive years, making them the perfect spokespeople for the evening's message. Each shared their own life experiences, imparting a powerful message to the attending kids and they spoke to a full house.

The second part of the night's program saw Trae deliver his own message to the kids. His story was one of loss, having an older brother serving 3 consecutive life sentences and what it was like to grow up without him. Trae gave a compelling speech to the kids about staying in school, getting an education and keeping away from drugs and all present were moved by his warmth and generosity. Trae remained until the last child had left, answering questions and signing autographs.

"The Hopefest was a night filled with hope and inspiration." Says Aspire to Win Founder and CEO, Rosey Ruiz. "I believe it was a blessing to all who came. Pastor Tyrone P. Spriggs is to be commended for thinking outside-the-box in his endeavor to reach the young people of his congregation and partnering with Aspire to Win on this very important effort."

Celph Titled & Buckwild Transport You To Nineteen Ninety Now

Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Nineteen Ninety Now Features Appearances From Treach, Vinnie Paz, Apathy, Diamond D, Sadat X, Grand Puba, Chino XL, Esoteric, A.G, R.A. The Rugged Man & O.C

Its finally here and a hip-hop renaissance is about to begin showing that the lessons from the past can be combined with the innovations of the present, as Celph Titled and Buckwild have joined forces to create a neo-classic with Nineteen Ninety Now; bringing the art form full-circle through this groundbreaking collaboration. By having uninhibited access to legendary producer Buckwild's original mid-90's production, Celph Titled was able to select and record to over 16 unreleased bangers; bringing his charismatic flow and lyrical prowess to each one.

Nineteen Ninety Now is more than a collaboration of great minds with impeccable taste; it's also the long awaited debut album from Celph Titled, who already has gained a huge underground following as a core member of Jedi Mind Tricks' Army of the Pharaohs crew, his own trademark Demigodz releases and his involvement in Mike Shinoda's Fort Minor project. While Celph is a producer in his own right, the chance to work with Buckwild and actually have the opportunity to capture the lost sound of the 90's by utilizing vintage tracks from Buckwild's vault that have never been heard before was a no-brainer---and here's why. Multi-platinum producer Buckwild from the legendary Diggin' In The Crates crew (D.I.T.C.) has produced countless classics over the last two decades for artists ranging from Artifacts, 50 Cent, Big L, Brand Nubian, CNN, Faith Evans, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Diddy, The Game, Redman, Shyne, Swizz Beatz, Big Pun and Jay-Z. To boot, he's also the producer behind indelible classics from Notorious B.I.G ("I Got A Story To Tell"), Black Rob ("Whoa"), O.C. ("Times Up") and Organized Konfusion ("Stress").

Revisiting the classic SP-1200 and Akai-S950 sound that reigned supreme in Hip-Hop's "Golden Era," the beats on Nineteen Ninety Now were originally produced by Buckwild between the years of 1994-1995--but never recorded to. Buckwild fondly recalls what it was like to dig back into those crates "although I've stayed ahead of the times as a producer, it was a lot of fun to load up these old disks. Joints I forgot I even had, stuff I haven't heard in 15-years. It was definitely a welcomed experiment that turned out amazing. Further, he comments on the concept he and Celph embarked on and its possibilities in the future "essentially this is a concept album that's a first of its kind. I wanted to be able to resurrect a 90's sound that once was and combine it with 2010 rhymes. I consider this album to be monumental because it could literally not only change the game, but change the way people feel. Dudes complain about the game but they ain't doing anything. Nobody has done this concept before us. I wouldn't be surprised if this creates a demand for other MC's and producers who were around in the 90's to get together and dig through shoeboxes of floppy disks to feed the fans more of the lost sound they still crave for and I'm all for it."

While Celph has enjoyed success with his Demigodz crew and all of his endeavors, it may surprise some that Nineteen Ninety Now is his true debut and the importance of this project was not lost on him, as he laments on how meticulous the recording process was for this project "We took three-years to construct this album. This is the project I've always wanted to do. To have my debut solo-album produced entirely by a legend like Buckwild can't be topped in my mind. My first album is always going to be looked at as a masterpiece to all my fans."

Celph also comments on why harkening back into this very specific time period of Hip-Hop is moving forward and not backward "It's actually refreshing to hear authentic beats produced in the 90's finally unveiled. It reminds you of all the dope production methods and sounds that are no longer used today. Nineteen Ninety Now takes you right back to that feeling--even if it's just for one album."

Celph Titled and Buckwild will release Nineteen Ninety Now on 10-26-2010 on No Sleep Recordings.

A RECENT NASHVILLE SCENE COVER STORY ON YOUNG BUCK

Nashville, TN - There can't be too many worse ways of waking up on a Tuesday morning than hearing your doorbell ring and answering to find a Federal Agent standing there with a shotgun, telling you that he and several other agents are there to take possession of your personal belongings on behalf of the IRS, but such was the case for multi-platinum, former G-Unit soldier, Young Buck, this past Tuesday. By now the facts are a matter of public record and Buck has already issued a statement to the media (via TMZ) about the events of that day, saying all there was to be said.

Well, almost.

That afternoon, Young Buck received an email from his good friend, mega-producer Drumma Boy. There was no message, only some tracks; meant for Buck to take to the Music Row studio where he records most nights and rap out his frustrations about the days events. A lesser man might have gotten drunk, or worse, but Young Buck has been dealing with situations just like this for some time now. So, he took the unspoken advice of his friend and, six hours later, emerged with two songs.

This first is appropriately entitled My Campaign. The lyrics are deep and heartfelt but, is Buck crying over his most recent losses?

"Aye shawty keep that sympathy for that baby you taking care of, anything they done is done did to me now we all aware of" is what he has to say about it all.

So, download the song (below) and, in ya Kanye voice scream "Lawdy, lawdy, lawd now!" For it is DEFINITELY time to get Buck again..............stay tuned.

Young Buck's Home -- Raided by Shotgun-Toting Feds

Nashville, TN- After years of back and forth with the IRS, agents showed up at the Nashville home of former G-Unit artist, Young Buck, seizing assets like recording equipment, jewelry, furniture, and his platinum wall plaques. The action was taken due to a $300,000 past tax bill. Although Buck's lawyers filed in court last month to protect the rapper's assets, the situation was apparently too far gone to save everything. Armed Federal Agents showed up to the house this morning and rang the doorbell, using a shotgun to warn the rapper against any interference with the seizure proceedings. Buck was able to keep his vehicles and his home.

After what was obviously a tense situation, Young Buck remains saddened but relatively unscathed and reflective. "The worst part of this isn't the material stuff--that will all be replaced. It's what it does to the people around me. They took my kids' Playstation, my assistants' computers, and baby's mothers' jewelry. They took my home studio so I can't even record..."

Looking back, Buck realizes that he should have taken a more hands-on approach to the severance of his financial matters from his former management team, accountant and label but is confident that it is a mistake he will not make twice. "I have a new team in place, but I am also paying full attention now. Nothing like this will ever happen again. This is a huge wake up call for all entertainers to stay on top of your own trusted employees and team members, and replace anyone that was put in place by your record label if the situation you have goes sour. This IRS situation came about because I trusted accountants, lawyers, and managers to handle my business for me while I focused on making music. From now on, I am going to stay on top of my own business."

Buck offered up the following statement to concerned fans. "Things you go through in life make you who you are and I'm alright!”
