SLIM THUGS NEW ALBUM DROPS MARCH 24TH

Slim Thug is a reluctant celebrity if ever there was one. The Houston-bred rapper who pushed his towering frame through hip-hop’s heavy doors in the late ‘90s never envisioned himself as a rap star. “I didn’t come in the game wanting to be a rapper,” he explains. “I wasn’t like a kid saying I wanna be a famous rapper, I wanna be like Tupac. I was from the ‘hood. We didn’t believe in none of that shit. I’m 6’6 tall and I never played basketball because I never believed in going to the NBA. That was just too far fetched for me and being a rap star was too far fetched for me.”

But it wasn’t long before an eye-opening encounter with Swisha House’s Michael “5000” Watts had Slim singing a different song. “I was at a party freestyling and he invited me to his house to do a mixtape,” he recalls, adding that Watts “showed me the hustle of it, how it all worked. As soon I saw that, I started making money.”

Although he has only one major label release to his credit – 2005’s Already Platinum, Slim Thug has the swagger and the fanbase of a more seasoned rapper. His new CD, Boss of All Bosses (Boss Hawg Outlawz/E1 Music), is a testament to his independent spirit both as an artist and an entrepreneur. It is a testament, he says, to the ‘reality music’ that has made his native Houston a hotbed for hip-hop over the years. “This album is me doing what I wanted to do. I put it together the way I wanted without being influenced by any other people – no A&Rs, none of that. What people are gonna get from this album is Houston. I have all the artists out of Houston on it: UGK, Scarface, Lil Keke, Z-Ro.”

As he cites appearances on his CD, Slim Thug gushes with pride. “These are the people I listen to all the time all day,” he proclaims, “and I just wanna give the world that, let the world know the type of stuff that we’re on because I don’t see too many people outside the southern region catching on to how we do our stuff out here. There’s still a whole other side of Houston that hasn’t been displayed so I’m still trying to bring it out to a broader audience.”

After one CD, several mixtapes – including Serve and Collect: Volumes 1 and 2 – and a number of appearances on other people’s projects (Mike Jones’ ‘Still TippinGwen Stefani’s “Luxurious" and Beyonce’s “Check On It”), the original boss man from Houston is back in the mix, still calling the shots, still doing things his way. “It’s always been like that,” he says confidently. “I was always in control of whatever I did. That’s why when I got with the majors I wasn’t comfortable because I wasn’t calling the shots. I’ve always been a boss in this music game. Now, in my mind, I’m starting over from scratch. I’m just hitting the reset button and start from there.”

The Saga Continues with Chris Brown and Rihanna....

The saga continues with Chris Brown and Rihanna.
RadarOnline reports:
A source inside Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles has confirmed exclusively to RadarOnline.com that pop star Rihanna was in fact treated there for injuries…

“It was some time after 12PM PST [Sunday] and I had been waiting in the ER department corridor when Rihanna was brought through the back entrance on a gurney, flanked by two LAPD officers. It was impossible to know it was her at first because when they wheeled her past me, she had the hood on her fuchsia-colored sweatshirt tightly drawn round her face and she was wearing big brown sunglasses. They took her into room 14 which was opposite me. It had a six-foot glass door but the nurses drew a privacy curtain around it.”
More after the jump….
“I knew the person was famous because of all the attention she was being given by security and medical staff. However, they didn’t draw the curtain all the time and I was finally able to make out that the woman they had brought in was Rihanna. She was lying in bed. While the two police officers waited outside, Rihanna was seen by the doctor. When he left, a plain clothes officer in a mismatched suit went in.I figured he was a detective because I saw the handcuffs in his belt. He stayed in there for about an hour.”
“When he left, Rihanna’s two female assistants went in to see her and a private security guard stood outside. The police officers were given room 10 to use which was close to Rihanna’s. “Rihanna was clearly very upset by what had happened and I could hear her screaming. Rihanna was trying to get her point across about something, she sounded like she was crying as she tried to get to put her point across.“
“Her staff was also very shaken by what had happened. Later on I saw one of the assistants crying into the shoulder of the security guard.
And lastly…
Miss Info has also reported that "Wrigley" has suspended the Doublemint campaign.

NEW NEWS: ILLSEED/AllHipHop has reported:
"Chris and Rihanna actually broke up a few days ago, but the reps from each side wanted them to pretend to be together. This would be a win/win in the media and publicity department. They kept it civil for the pre-Grammy Parties and all the meet and greets. Here is where the meeting and greeting may have gone wrong.

According to my slimies, Chris met some girl and he commences to kick game to the girl. He allegedly gets her number and kicks it with the chick’s team. Now, according to rumor, these chicks were told to follow him to a party of some sort. I’m gathering Ri Ri was right there when this took place and she was NOT pleased to see this go down. Well, they go at it verbally – back and forth. Nobody knows if the alleged attack took place at this time or later. The Lambo with Chris and RiRi supposedly pulls over and things spill out on the side of the road. My source said, “All hell broke loose” at this point.

Meanwhile, the girls following are still there in their car. Now, I said this once and I’ll say it again. This is all speculation from sources that claim to know. Here we go. Rihanna gets out of the car visibly bruised up, but takes her rage to the girl that Chris was kicking it to. Well, at some point, somebody catches Rihanna in the EYE. My source honestly couldn’t tell me if it was Chris or somebody else like the girl. Nevertheless, this goes back to my rumor where Rihanna likely has a BLACK EYE (read here for that).

This is the alleged story, y’all from a source so close…I can’t even say any more. "

New Clubland in NYC Garment District??

New York City
Picture exiting Penn Station and entering the Big Apples version of Bourbon Street New Orleans. It's nighttime in the usually desolate past dusk Garment District and nightlife shakers are dressed up to the nines, spilling out of cabs on their way to a series of mega clubs lining the block. A novel idea but if some community advocates have their way, a club district in the heart of Manhattan could be the next big thing for New York nightlifeĆ¢€¦Ć¢€¦

We have a problem in the city everybody wants to go out but nobody wants it in their neighborhood," said Tony Juliano, owner of the XES Lounge on W24th Street and a member of Community Board 4. Some members of his board as well as the adjacent Board 5 have decided to collaborate on the issue as a way identify common problems and solutions, including the creation of a possible nightlife district in Midtown for Manhattan's largest clubs.

John Englebert aka JE, owner of the West Chelsea nightclubs Prime and Suzie Wong, was also warm to the idea of a New Orleans style club confluence. "It's a great idea if the city would zero in and try to keep everything in one nightlife zone," he said, noting that the closest thing resembling a club district today lies where his clubs are, W27th and W28th Streets between 10th and 11th avenues in West Chelsea. "That Mardi gras feeling of bar and club hopping in New York City would be great. It would benefit everyone and it would be easier for the city by keeping and condensing all the drunken trouble that comes along with nightlife to one specific area." Englebert said

The Garment District is strongly being considered because of its proximity to transportation hubs in Penn Station and Times Square. It is primarily commercial and not residential. The noisy club patrons who empty into the streets in the wee hours wouldn't create disturbances for neighbors.
